Traditional Maya Therapy - Addressing modern health concerns with ancient healing
ABOUT TRADITIONAL MAYA THERAPY

Traditional Maya Therapy uses the Arvigo Technique which is a natural external treatment used for men and women providing solutions for: Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), fibroids, painful periods, pain during intercourse, infertility, prolapsed uterus and PMS related issues.

Maya abdominal therapy for the reproductive and digestive systems has been known and practiced for thousands of years, the technique having been passed down through midwives, medicine men and women, and healers generation after generation, all over the world from Central America to Africa, Egypt and China.

The technique, as practiced today, was developed by Dr Rosita Arvigo. When Rosita moved to Belize and befriended one of the last traditional Maya healers, Don Elijio Panti, he agreed to take her on as his apprentice.

Over the next 10 years, Don Eligio imparted to her his wisdom of the healing plants of the rainforest, traditional massage, including the abdominal techniques and spiritual healing.

Don Elijio believed that a woman's center is her uterus. He would say "If a woman's uterus is out of balance, so is she." Midwives and healers of Central America agree that most female troubles are caused by the wandering womb.

Elijio passed away in 1996, aged 103. Since this time Rosita has taken the knowledge she learned from him, and combined it with her Western naprapathic and herbal training to form the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy.
